How to Meditate

Meditation is defined as an extremely religious and personal experience. The main aim of each technique is to direct the knowledge and understanding into a more optimistic direction by changing the state of mind.

The process of meditation involves three stages such as concentration, meditation and illumination or inclusion. Every person should do meditation daily in a centre or group under the management of a qualified teacher. The meditation will definitely have an effect on the mind.

Some people do meditation by reading the books. Stability in meditation is very essential for a person if it is done for just five minutes in a day and should be done every day. After sometimes, meditation becomes an essential part of the life.

Before meditation , take care of the following things such as:

A quiet place

Wear loose and comfortable clothing

Meditation should be done mainly in the early morning and one should not be too tired.

One should be particular about the place and time.

One should sit comfortably and room is the best place for meditation.

How to Meditate the Body

The person should consider the following things in mind while meditating the body such as:

The person should be comfortable and physically relaxed and should avoid moving too much.

Both the eyes should be kept half open and most of the beginners close them while meditating.

You should keep the back straight and should meditate in the right posture which is considered as an essential part in meditation.

One should relax the shoulders and put their hands on one’s knees.

You should keep the head straight, teeth should be kept apart and the tip of the tongue should be kept against the upper pallet.

The legs should be kept crossed and one should sit on the chair also. But remember that one should not lean to the back and feet should be kept flat on the floor. Knees should be kept warm which helps in preventing numbness of the legs.

One should breathe from the belly and not with the chest.

One should meditate in the correct posture.

How to Meditate the Mind

One should be relaxed, alert and considerate.

One should be cautious and observe the mind and thoughts.

The mind is divided into two when one starts to expand awareness of the mind. A new feature of the mind arises. This is known as the prophet, observer, knower or the spectator.

It observes without judgment and without remark. At this stage, one can see the emotions and thoughts instead of ‘me’ and ‘mine’. When the mind enables to see the emotions and thoughts, then one has too many choices. At the end, the dedication of a person directs affirmative energy towards outcome.

So, one can follow these steps to meditate the body and mind and achieve peace.
