Weight Loss Program and Management

The problem of obesity is so common that it turned the weight loss in a big industry. There is a large advertisement and campaigning about the weight loss dieting. Everyone has a different plan or idea for weight loss and his own way to implement it.

There is not a single weight loss program that can provide a readymade solution of the overweight problem. One thing is clear while going through these programs is that an individual’s own workout is required and it is the only guarantee for the success of a particular program. So, one can make his own plan for weight control. It will not only be cost effective but also provide the type of self satisfaction and confidence that an individual needs.

Eating the right food:

There are some other common exercises to follow. One can start with low intensity and gradually move on to the high intensity exercises in order to avoid any injury.

Stress management:

One of the hardest tasks to perform in present day life is stress management. It is not only responsible for the overweight but also responsible for poor overall health. The stress can also affect the weight control target of an individual. One must schedule a little time to go for an enjoyable activity in order to get some relief.

These are the some guidelines for making an effective weight loss program. The success of every such program lies in the intensity and regularity. The solution gained through the self management will be more effective and long lasting.

Aromatherapy and Concentration

Aromatherapy has a significant affect on the activities of brain, moods and sense of alertness, according to researchers of Miami School of Medicine, University in USA.

There are some sharp-smelling essential oils like eucalyptus and peppermint that are used to clear lethargy or fog of excessive fatigue. Therefore, these essential oils are helpful to improve mental alertness and concentration.

Clove, Juniper and Basil are very useful for promoting metal concentration and clarity of thought. They are also very helpful for meditation.

Aromatherapy is not just useful in hospitals and clinics, but also beneficial in colleges, workplace and schools.

The following essential oils are very beneficial to improve concentration:

Neroli
Vetivert
Camomile
Lavender

One can easily use these essential oils for steam inhalation or in the bath. One can also use these essential oils in a vaporizer or burner. Essential oils when added to the bath can give response physiological and affect moods. Actually, it can have a tremendous psychological impact.

Lemon

Transcendental Meditation

Transcendental meditation (TM) is one type of meditation which is developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1955.

This technique is natural, simple and effortless method through which one can reach to the destination of thoughts naturally and easily and one can attain advanced state of mind such as self-referral consciousness and pure consciousness which is considered as a resource of all inspired processes.

This type of meditation is done for about 15-20 minutes daily in the morning and evening while sitting in a correct posture having eyes closed. In this procedure, the person’s consciousness settles down and one can practice an exclusive state of peaceful awareness.

When the body becomes intensely peaceful, then all mental activity is transcended to practice the simplest form of consciousness. This is referred to self-referral state of alertness.

Steps to Learn the Transcendental Meditation Program

This meditation technique is taught in a typical way by following the certain steps such as private instruction, public lectures and group seminars. At each phase of training, new information is accessed to supply a clear acceptance of rising experience.

Introductory Lectures

The training path involves two public lectures which describe the working of the technique, benefits, four days of instruction and a short interview. The first three steps can be followed by a person at any time and does not involve any cost. The three steps are:-

Introductory Lecture

A one hour lecture is given to the people in which image of all potentials are introduced during the transcendental meditation technique.

Preparatory Lecture

In this lecture, the people are taught about the procedures and beginning of this type of meditation technique.

Personal Interview

An interview is taken by the eligible teacher of the transcendental meditation program after the preparatory lecture for about 10-15 minutes.

Four Days of Instruction

These steps are taken on 4 successive days and involve a course fee. These steps are:-

Personal Instruction

In this technique, the person learns about the transcendental meditation technique for about 1-2 hours.

First Day of Checking

In this procedure, the experienced teachers taught about validating and accuracy of the practice and the instruction is promoted.

Second Day of Checking

In this meditation program, the person is allowed to understand the procedures of this technique from personal experiences.

Third Day of Checking

In transcendental meditation technique, the person understands about the working of the growth of higher states of awareness.

Follow Up Program

After completing this training program, one is invited to attend a group follow-up meeting which is held about 2 weeks later. In this meeting, the teacher checks the person’s meditation, provides extra knowledge on the procedure and answers all the questions and doubts of the trainee.

After having done graduation in the course, one is eligible for lifetime follow-up at any center of this meditation. This involves personal inspection of the meditation, special events, advanced lectures, celebrations and group meditations.

How to Meditate

Meditation is defined as an extremely religious and personal experience. The main aim of each technique is to direct the knowledge and understanding into a more optimistic direction by changing the state of mind.

The process of meditation involves three stages such as concentration, meditation and illumination or inclusion. Every person should do meditation daily in a centre or group under the management of a qualified teacher. The meditation will definitely have an effect on the mind.

Some people do meditation by reading the books. Stability in meditation is very essential for a person if it is done for just five minutes in a day and should be done every day. After sometimes, meditation becomes an essential part of the life.

Before meditation , take care of the following things such as:

A quiet place

Wear loose and comfortable clothing

Meditation should be done mainly in the early morning and one should not be too tired.

One should be particular about the place and time.

One should sit comfortably and room is the best place for meditation.

How to Meditate the Body

The person should consider the following things in mind while meditating the body such as:

The person should be comfortable and physically relaxed and should avoid moving too much.

Both the eyes should be kept half open and most of the beginners close them while meditating.

You should keep the back straight and should meditate in the right posture which is considered as an essential part in meditation.

One should relax the shoulders and put their hands on one’s knees.

You should keep the head straight, teeth should be kept apart and the tip of the tongue should be kept against the upper pallet.

The legs should be kept crossed and one should sit on the chair also. But remember that one should not lean to the back and feet should be kept flat on the floor. Knees should be kept warm which helps in preventing numbness of the legs.

One should breathe from the belly and not with the chest.

One should meditate in the correct posture.

How to Meditate the Mind

One should be relaxed, alert and considerate.

One should be cautious and observe the mind and thoughts.

The mind is divided into two when one starts to expand awareness of the mind. A new feature of the mind arises. This is known as the prophet, observer, knower or the spectator.

It observes without judgment and without remark. At this stage, one can see the emotions and thoughts instead of ‘me’ and ‘mine’. When the mind enables to see the emotions and thoughts, then one has too many choices. At the end, the dedication of a person directs affirmative energy towards outcome.
